We’re honoured to have been featured in BBC Two’s new documentary all about the captivating journey of hospitality, and we’re proud to share our story of timeless elegance, exceptional service, and cultural diversity.
In the documentary, our expert events manager Manni Mander, who specialises in Asian events, oversees preparations for Grand Station’s biggest Sikh event of the year, with over 600 guests. You get to see firsthand how the bride and groom to be can customise their special day, from food tastings to table arrangements, and finally the sheer joy of the big day.
Additionally, the documentary showcases our partnering with the Modern African Wedding Show to host the venue's first-ever African wedding fair. Our director Danny Thompson explains how connecting with different communities helps us to accurately tailor our wedding packages to diverse ethnic groups.

What You Should Know About Our Heritage
Grand Station, originally opened in 1854, is a Grade II listed building that was once known as the Low-Level Train Station in Wolverhampton. This architectural gem was jointly constructed by the Oxford, Worcester, and Wolverhampton (OWWR) and Great Western Railway (GWR) companies, forming part of the route from London Paddington to Birkenhead via Birmingham Snow Hill.
After nearly thirty years of disrepair, Grand Station underwent a remarkable transformation in 2012 - and is now one of Wolverhampton’s most sought-after venues for weddings, events, and conferences.
